Born Kevin Michael McKeehan on October 22, 1964, TobyMac grew up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. His love for music began at an early age, and he started rapping in high school. After graduation, he attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he met fellow Christian artist Michael Tait. Together, they formed the iconic Christian band DC Talk.

DC Talk went on to become one of the most successful Christian bands of all time, selling over 8 million albums worldwide. They were known for their blend of hip-hop, rock, and pop, and for their powerful message of faith and hope. TobyMac’s unique voice and energy were a big part of the band’s success.

After DC Talk disbanded in 2000, TobyMac launched his solo career. His debut album, “Momentum,” was released in 2001 and quickly became a hit with Christian music fans. His second album, “Welcome to Diverse City,” followed in 2004 and featured the hit single “Gone.”

Since then, TobyMac has released several more albums, including “Portable Sounds,” “Tonight,” and “Eye on It.” His music has continued to evolve, blending elements of hip-hop, rock, pop, and EDM to create a sound that is uniquely his own.

One thing that sets TobyMac apart from other Christian artists is his willingness to tackle difficult subjects in his music. He has written about the challenges of faith, the struggles of life, and the need for hope and redemption. His lyrics are honest and heartfelt, and they have resonated with millions of fans around the world.

One thing that most people might not know about TobyMac is that he is a huge fan of soccer. In fact, he played soccer in high school and was even recruited to play in college. He has continued to follow the sport over the years and is a big supporter of the US Men’s National Team. In 2019, he even released a song called “The Elements (This Beat Is Soccer),” which was inspired by his love for the sport. Additionally, he is a fan of the English Premier League and has been known to tweet about his favorite teams and players.

In addition to his music career, TobyMac is also known for his philanthropy. He is the founder of the non-profit organization “Elevate Hope Foundation,” which provides music therapy to at-risk and abused children. He has also been involved in various other charitable organizations over the years, using his platform to make a positive difference in the world.

Overall, TobyMac is a talented artist with a heart for God and a passion for music. His unique sound and powerful message have made him a beloved figure in the Christian music world, and his influence shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to his music, there’s no denying the impact that TobyMac has had on the world of contemporary Christian music.

Knowing Christ Today by Dallas Willard — Willard’s work confronts a critical issue in modern Christian thought: the separation of Jesus’ teachings from what is considered genuine knowledge. He argues that this division has led to a catastrophic misunderstanding of what it means to know Christ and live according to His teachings. The book’s aim is to reestablish the core teachings of Christianity—often referred to as “Mere” Christianity—as a substantial and recognized form of knowledge¹[1].
